Vekari

The planet Vekari lies secluded in the folds of a lone galaxy, protected and managed by a pantheon of gods after its solar system collapsed in a man-made supernova. For centuries the planet has seen war and destruction, being repeatedly made anew by the gods in an endless cycle of suffering.

The countries of Noxen and Atraria have seen war within each other for many years. A group of cultists worshiping Tises, God of Hatred, sought war against Noxen and ravaged the land, taking claim to it and attempting to eradicate the Exiun, simple peaceful worshippers of Exius, the God of Tranquility.

During the upset, the people of Atraria banded together under the protection of Ulios, God of Resistance, to free their country of Disciple rule. The country was divided into two states: Suspana, home to the resistance and made anew by its people to be a place of relaxation and wonder, and Caprar, a desolate wasteland home to few Disciples and their troops.

For many years the Disciples ruled over Noxen and managed to keep hold of their territory in Atraria. It was well known that experiments were being done to the Exiun on an island known as Asylum Isle, with the details of the experiments being kept from the public eye. However, this was not enough, and they came to hear of another far off country that they sought to control as well. With their forces focused on discovering the mythical country, Noxen was once again invaded, this time by the resistance seeking to drive the Disciples out, and the Disciples were forced to contain themselves in the state of Oprus.

The remaining Exiun fled to the island-state of Geo Tra while the resistance made claim over Ebril and created a state of adventurer guilds, allowing a fourth state known as Asken to arise from the rubble. Asken became a place free from the reign of gods or worshippers, a place where people could escape to and begin their lives anew.

However, all is not settled. The Disciples have continued plotting, and residents of Geo Tra continue to go missing. There are rumors that Asylum Isle remains active and that the Disciples may be preparing for another war. Efforts to investigate Oprus at all, much less Asylum Isle, have proved futile.

Vekari: Reign of Disciples, the included pre-made adventure, takes players on an adventure across both countries to investigate a series of recent deaths and disappearances and to try to put an end to the Disciples and Tises’ wrath. It is not an adventure for the faint of heart, full of puzzles, shady characters, gory corpses, and both man-made and cosmic horrors beyond our comprehension.

Plot points and items revolve around characters’ own stories, creating a unique story each time supported by player imaginations. There will be laughs, there will be victories, there will be losses, and there will be great traumatic tragedy.

If you are feeling brave, Vekari requires your aid, adventurers. The fate of the world lies in your hands.

This TTRPG will include Reign of Disciples as a pre-made adventure, but players are welcome (and encouraged) to create their own adventures within Vekari as well! Information about each area and the history is included, as well as non-specific instructions for creating characters, items, weapons, spells, enemies, puzzles, and encounters. The world is yours to explore and build to your liking: Herrus' presence as the God of Chaos makes anything possible!

There will be a PDF file containing a complete and highly customizable TTRPG system, in-depth worldbuilding, character sheets, puzzle diagrams, made up language dictionaries, printable zine booklets for quick games, the Reign of Disciples adventure, a bonus one-shot adventure (Forgotten Temple), and more! Later on once I have funds, you will also be able to purchase physical copies packaged in cassette cases containing pre-folded zine booklets and a USB containing copies of the PDF and some music to use during sessions! A printed book will be available as well in small batches.

It is currently IN DEVELOPMENT (and has been for about 2 years!), with an aim to release by July 2025! The core rules + one shot will likely release first, with Reign of Disciples coming in the following weeks. This is to make sure the system works decently before finalizing a larger adventure!
